Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) in association with FDDI, NOIDA organized a seminar cum workshop on Goods & Services Tax (GST) on the 15th February-2017 at the Yoga Room, FDDI, New Building at NOIDA.
Eminent CA Shri Chitresh Gupta also an Author to “An Insight into Goods & Services Tax” & member of Indirect Tax Committee – PHD Chambers of Commerce took charge of the Seminar proceedings highlighting the features of GST.
Seminar was attended by a large audience including eminent members of the Industry from the Footwear, Component and allied sector along with Senior students of FDDI. Shri Puran Dawar, Regional Chairman,CLE graced the workshop as the Chief Guest . He was presented a bouquet by the IFCOMA President Shri Vipan Seth .
Mr Chitresh Gupta discussed the GST with complete overview on its emergence, need of GST, implementation status & way forward. He defined the GST as a comprehensive Value Added tax on supply of goods services or both; levied at every stage of production –distribution chain ; will ensure seamless input tax credit throughout the supply chain at all stages of production and distribution.
He informed the members regarding the major impact areas and the preparations the companies need to undertake for smooth transition into the new system that is likely to be in place by 1st July 2017.
Mr Gupta explained that GST will simplify the process as it will bring uniformity on taxation all over India with one single point levy of GST elimination multiplicity of duties & taxes. He opined that most of the duties & taxes shall be subsumed into GST as one tax. He also cited examples on how the GST will work for the Industry and impact on footwear Industry. HE educated the audience on the Registration process, Invoicing structure and modalities of Returns to be filed. He stressed on the precautionary measures the companies need to take as the transition.
The workshop was appreciated by the Audience for its usefulness, nuances and importance. The Chief Guest Shri Dawar & the presenter Shri Chitresh Gupta were felicitated with a memento by FDDI and IFCOMA.

After the year 2000, IFCOMA organized its second Buyers Seller Meet cum Exhibition at Jaipur on 23rd & 24th June.2016. This was the 40th BSM in the series of events conducted by IFCOMA so far. The BSM was conducted at Hotel Paradise Inn at Jaipur with the esteem support of the Rajasthan Footwear Manufacturers Association.
The BSM was inaugurated on 23rd June by Shri RK Poddar , Chairman, Mayur Leather Products along with Shri Shikhar Bairathi, President RFMA, Shri SK Poddar Chairman, Mayur Uniquoters, Jaipur and other dignitaries of Jaipur Footwear Association.The BSM was highly appreciated by the Local Industry and they felt that the event will be of immense help to the local manufacturers as they could see the technical upgradation that has taken place in the component Industry. The BSM gave the Industry a wide exposure on newer developed components and machinery. It was observed by the local footwear Association that IFCOMA should hold this event frequently with maximum numbers of Component Manufacturers.
About 30 companies took part in this BSM and exhibited their products during the event. More than 150 Shoe manufacturers form Jaipur, Jodhpur, Neem Ka Thana, Alwar etc. came to the exhibition and around 200 artisans were attracted to the two days event .The visitors were highly impressed by the Quality of the Components that were on display and requested IFCOMA to make arrangements on frequent basis so that the Industry is benefitted with the latest developments taking place in the Industry.
The BSM & the event was highly supported by the Rajasthan Footwear Manufacturers Association. Mr Saurabh Bairathi, Secretary, RFMA mobilized the Visitors from the industry. IFCOMA took note of the observations made by RFMA and emphasized that it would take adequate measures to play a pivotal role for the growth of the trade along with RFMA members.
On the 24th Evening RFMA & IFCOMA organized a B2B interactive meeting between the Shoe manufacturers and the participants of the BSM to understand each other’s expectation on trade front. Some of the members made a presentation to the Footwear Manufacturers. The meeting saw remarkable presence of about 200 numbers including both the sides i.e Buyers & Sellers. During the meeting a number of issues were discussed between RFMA and IFCOMA members. Both the sides felt that such interactions should be a part of the BSM in the future. RFMA secretary expressed the need of Jaipur BSM being an annual affair.
Overall the exhibition drew a handsome response and the Jaipur Footwear manufacturers appreciated the initiative of IFCOMA. RFMA supported the cause whole heartedly and insisted that this event should become an annual affair at Jaipur.

Timings of the BSM : 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM (Both the days)
Each built up stand of display is available at a very nominal cost of Rs. 20,000/- + 14.5% service tax for IFCOMA members & Rs. 25,000/- + 14.5% service tax for non-members. Extra stand required by the participants (subject to availability) can be taken on payment as applicable per stand.

After a gap of 2 years, IFCOMA organized its third Buyers Seller Meet cum Exhibition at Jalandhar on 22nd & 23rd July 2018. This was the 45th BSM in the series of events conducted by IFCOMA so far. The BSM was conducted at Hotel Kings, GT Road, Jalandhar with the esteem support of Council for Leather Exports, Punjab Leather Federation and Sports Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association Jalandhar.
The BSM was inaugurated on 22nd July 2018 by Shri Pargat Singh , MLA , Jalandhar Cantt along with the Guest of honour Shri Ajaya Mahajan, Chairman Sports Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (SGMEA) Jalandhar and Shri Vipin Mahajan , Secretary General of SGMEA and Industrialists from Jalandhar Footwear & Sports Goods Industry.
In his key note address to the BSM gathering the Chief Guest Shri Pargat Singh appreciated the initiative taken by IFCOMA and expressed that the Footwear and leather Industry needs to be encouraged with better infrastructure. He expressed his happiness to see SME manufacturers’ participation and active involvement of the local industry. He emphasized that the Industry in Jalandhar has to play a vital role to bring up the issues that are hampering the growth and the administration will look into the remedy.
The Guests of honour Shri Ajaya Mahajan appreciated the role of IFCOMA to bring growth to the Industry by conducting such events. Shri Ajaya Mahajan said that he was moved by the concerted effort of IFCOMA to conduct the 3rd Buyer Seller meet at Jalandhar. He felt that this event will also benefit the Sports goods manufacturers as a number of components on display are being used the Sports Industry as well. He wished good luck to all the participants.
The Third Buyer Seller meet cum exhibition was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and the dignitaries present. The event was declared open by cutting of ribbon by the Chief Guest Shri Pargat Singh .

More than 300 Shoe manufacturers form Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Saharanpur, Amritsar, Delhi, Chandigarh and adjoining areas came to the see the exhibition and around 200 artisans from Ludhiana visited the two days event .The visitors were highly impressed by the Quality of the Components that were on display and requested IFCOMA to make arrangements on frequent basis so that the Industry is benefitted with the latest developments taking place in the Industry.
Overall the exhibition drew a handsome response and the Jalandhar Footwear manufacturers appreciated the initiative of IFCOMA. PLF & SGMEA supported the cause whole heartedly and insisted that this event should become an annual affair in the city with more participation from Leather & Sports goods Industry.
