The Export development board of Srilanka along with the Srilanka Footwear Association organized the first ever leather fair in Colombo.
The fair was organized at the most prestigious venue in Colombo, Bandaranaike Memorial International conference hall.
The fair had more than 80 participating companies, with 17 foreign participants out of which 11 companies were from our association, under
IFCOMA banner. Three members sent their products for display at the IFCOMA stand. This group participation was organized / coordinated by IFCOMA.

The three day exhibition had visitors from all over Srilanka and the participation in the fair was very fruitful.
During IFCOMA's deliberations with The Directors of Ministry of Industrial Development & Export development Board, Govt. of Srilanka, it was suggested that IFCOMA should work closely with them, so that a mechanism may be formed to provide quality footwear components from India to the SME sector in Srilanka, which is quite large. As per their request IFCOMA is preparing a proposal to be sent to the Government of Srilanka.
The fair was organized very well and the Srilanka EDB and Association extended a very warm welcome to us. The Chairman of the Srilanka Footwear Association Mr. Chandralal De Silva also gave a lavish dinner to all the participants and especially invited our contingent for the same.
