IFCOMA organized its 31sth BSM cum Exhibition of Footwear Components & Accessories at Hotel Little Chef on 18th & 19th December, 2007 (6th at Kanpur).
The two day event had 53 participants from all over India, including machinery manufacturers & Tanners. The BSM attracted more than 700 trade visitors.
The BSMwas inaugurated by Prof. Sanjay G. Dhande, Director IIT Kanpur. Among the distinguished guests were Shri Maqsood Alam, Regional chairman CLE, Shri Irshad Mirza Chairman Mirza International Ltd. and Shri Rakesh Suri CEO Suri Shoes Ltd. IFCOMA President Sh. B. D. Bhaiya, presented the "IFCOMA Lifetime Achievement Award" to Shri B. K. Agarwal chairman of Tirubala group of companies as recognition for this contribution to the industry.

Prof. Dhande in his inaugural address praised the efforts of IFCOMA and offered his assistance to the component industry for development of new technologies and products. Sh.Irshad Mirza also praised the component industry in moving forward with the times and modernizing itself day by day. Sh Rakesh Suri expressed that more interaction is needed among the component manufacturers and Footwear producer for a more healthy growth of the industry.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. B. D. Bhaiya, President, IFCOMA, thanked Prof Dhande for offering the facilities of IIT Kanpur to the component industry and expressed that the component manufacturers will take benefit of this. He also invited the Footwear manufacturers of the region to have an open session with the component manufacturers to allay their doubts, if any, to the quality and availability of components produced in India. Member of the management committee, Sh Alok Lohia while delivering the vote of thanks thanked the distinguished guests and visitors from the trade for taking out their valuable time for attending the inauguration ceremony.
