On 10th December 2007 Representative of M/S Salomon, Mr. Pascal Covatta , Head of Engineering Boots and Bindings & Head of Plastic Department, visited our Display centre. M/s Salomon is part of the Amer sports group of companies from France. They are one of the worlds leading companies dealing in sports equipment. Some of the major brands owned by them are- Salomon, Wilson, Atomic, Suunto & Precor.
Mr. Covatta's visit is very significant for us as their company intends to shift their manufacturing base to India. The company specializes in Alpine boots and makes Ski Shoes for all age groups under the Salomon Brand. The group is also in Apparel and footwear for all kinds of sports.
Mr Covatta had a detailed look at all the components displayed at the centre and also had one to one meetings with some of our members as per the products liked by him. .

This was his first visit to identify the availability of various components in India and also the possibility of forging ties with component manufacturers for making their specialized Ski shoes in India.
Mr Covatta was very appreciative of the efforts of IFCOMA and the display centre. He remarked that getting information about all components made in the country under one roof is not only rare but also a considerable time saver for any footwear manufacturer. By visiting IFCOMA display centre he has achieved in one day, what he could not have been able to do even if he spent more than a week traveling to various cities in India.
He appreciated the various products available and informed us that a full team will be visiting India soon to further meet manufacturers of Moulds, trims, metal parts, linings etc.
