Chief Guest Mr. Rafeeque Ahmed, Chairman, CLE, after inaugurating the BSM with lighting of the lamp ceremony, stated in his key note address that now India is the only country talking about increasing its footwear exports in the next five years. He impressed that by 2011, the footwear industry aims to reach a target of $ 4 bn. which is a huge opportunity for the footwear component industry. He informed that a new Exhibition Hall is under construction at Ambur and expressed that ISF and IFCOMA also plan a components exhibition there.

While delivering his vote of thanks, Mr. Mani Almal, President, IFCOMA reminded & thanked ISF for this concept of component exhibition created by them way back in 1992 as "SHOE TECH". This unique concept to have component exhibition has been organized by IFCOMA in various parts of the country to reach all segment of footwear manufacturers’ i.e. smallest cobbler to organized manufacturers & exporters. IFCOMA organized buyers seller meet in SAARC countries and participated at international fairs.

He thanked Mr. Balaraman and Mr. Altaf for the initiative taken at the initial stage which is giving fruitful results today. He thanked Mr. Aqeel Ahmed for this exhibition which conceptualised during Kolkata BSM and is now translated to reality with maximum participation. He thanked Mr. Rafeeque Ahmed and other distinguished guests for supporting and making it a great success. He assured Mr.Rafeeque Ahmed to hold discussions for organizing exhibition at Ambur in the new hall, in reply to his suggestions. "There is a need for the component industry to expand in line with the global requirements with assured services to the footwear manufacturers" he added.
Mr. Almal thanked all the participants, CLRI, CLE, FDDI, Assintecal Team from Brazil and media for their support and presence in this exhibition.

A total of 76 exhibitors displayed various shoe components and services including a stall from Assentical, Brazil. Over a 1000 business visitors visited the exhibition. The exhibition gave an opportunity to shoe manufacturers to understand the new component trends and availability in the Indian market to enable them to gear up for the new season. A number of new players in shoe component manufacturing industry also got a chance to display their products and this exhibition was extremely beneficial both to the participants as well as to the visitors. All concerned expressed happiness over the opportunities provided by this exhibition and expressed their desire to participate in such exhibitions in future.
