IFCOMAorganized its 30th BSM cum Exhibition of Footwear Components & Accessories at Hotel Holiday Inn in Agra on 25th & 26th August, 2007 (6th at Agra).
The two day fair had 50 industries across India including M/s Tata International Ltd. from Dewas, showcasing their products and attracted over one thousand trade visitors apart from hundreds of students and artisans associated with the footwear industry in Agra.
The 6th BSM at Agra was inaugurated on 25th Aug. 2007 by Chief Guest Shri O. K. Kaul, President of M/s Tata International Ltd., Among the distinguished guests were Guests of Honour Shri A. K. Sondhi, Regional Chairman (North) CLE and Capt. A. S. Rana, President of AFMEC.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. B. D. Bhaiya, President, IFCOMA, stressed, that to make the leather industry more reliable among customers, it should no longer operate under the low-tech cluster and to face the competitive edge should come under one umbrella and share finer aspects of the business in view to develop the market.
He also emphasized on growing trends and up gradation of managerial and technical workforce which has skilled manpower but faces acute shortage of managerial and supervisory staff with technical qualifications.

Delivering his key note address, Chief Guest Shri O. K. Kaul touched upon the importance of footwear Components and traced its History from the ancient times and legacy of words used in the present day trends.
During the occasion, the veteran industrialist of Agra Shri R. K. Sama was felicitated, who also recalled the earlier days when footwear manufactured in Agra were given 'Made in Kanpur' label and gradually the 'Agra brand' became a known brand across the globe. Mr. A. K. Sondhi highlighted the efforts of IFCOMA in organizing successful BSM at Agra. Capt. A. S. Rana stressed on the importance of components and called the participants to join the AFMEC Fair Scheduled for 17 & 18 November, 2007 at JP Hotel, Agra.
Shri Puran Dawar, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Mr. Shahru Mohsin and many eminent personalities associated with Footwear manufacture, export & trade in Agra were also present.
Mr. Vikas Rathi, Jt. Secretary, IFCOMA and BSM Convener gave the vote of thanks. Shri Ranjeev Kochher had coordinated the event.
